OBSERVERS OF CLASSES
 |
Most studios across the country do not allow parents or visitors to watch dance classes. We have a very unique studio in that way. Unfortunately, this sometimes creates problems in the studio. Children and adults alike can get very distracted when there are observers in the room. It can make dancers feel very self conscious and not perform in class the same way they would if alone with the teacher.
To help this situation as much as possible, here are some guidelines:
• Parents are welcome to stay during class. It is not required for any age level.
If observers are going to stay, they must be very quiet.
• The teacher and the students in class should never be able to hear any conversations from the observers. Remember that if students hear’s whispering, sometimes they will assume it Is about them. If students hear the observers let it always be compliments and applause. Dance class can be a really hard thing for some kids to get the guts up to do. Let’s help all the kids to feel good about being here and trying their best.
• If the observers become a distraction to the students, and students are unable to focus on class, we will have to adjust the policy.
• There are some children that just do not respond as well to teachers when their parents are there. The teacher and Parent should be able to discuss each child and see if observing works well for them.
• DISCIPLINE--Although we truly appreciate that the parents want to help us. Please let the teacher handle discipline of a student. If they are not following directions or acting inappropriately in class, please let the teacher handle it. If the teacher feels like the student is not responding to them, they will ask for a parents assistance.
• Please be responsible for siblings or other children waiting in the lobby area. The teacher is responsible for the students in the class at that time. They are unable to also keep an eye out for the children in the Lobby area. Please make sure they are not destructive, keeps the noise Level down, and cleans up any mess created.

---Body and Soul Studio of dance is a place where anyone 3 years to
adult can come to class and try their best and feel great about it.
We strive to have an environment that self-esteem will blossom in.
Here your best is always good enough and as long as you try to do everything you will succeed. With that said, it is not ok to not try. Please
Through yourself into, have a good laugh, and try again. It is absolutely
Not acceptable to be disrespectful to any one else. I do not ever want
anyone making fun of or being mean to another student. It will not
Be tolerated and will result in not being unable to dance with this studio.
So, let’s all work together and DANCE!!!
